Michael R. La Porte is a partner of Flachsbart & Greenspoon, LLC. Mr. La Porte brings to Flachsbart & Greenspoon a breadth and wealth of intellectual-property licensing and trial experience, having handled trademark and trade secret litigation in courts throughout the country. Mr. La Porte has also focused his intellectual property practice on areas related to copyright and advertising. Additionally, Mr. La Porte has practiced information security litigation and counseling, assisting clients in protecting their intellectual property rights and their confidential customer information, including counseling on PCI Data Security Standard compliance and FTC Section 5 investigations. Mr. La Porte served as law clerk to the Honorable David H. Coar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Education
Mr. La Porte received his law degree from Illinois Institute of Technology - Chicago-Kent College of Law (J.D., high honors, 1996), where he was elected to the Order of the Coif, a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and a senior associate for the Chicago-Kent Law Review. He received his bachelor's degree in economics from Williams College (B.A., 1991).
